I have a rule I try to stick to: avoid politics at work. Let’s face it, you can try to change people’s minds, but generally it just turns into someone getting mad at someone else, and higher office tensions. So just avoid it.
When you’re at work, get your blood pumping a bit by doing some great exercises at your desk. There’s plenty you can do, and it’ll help you fight illness and disease.
Take a few minutes and tidy up your work area. Get rid of any garbage, wipe it down with some cleaner, and start your day off fresh. You can’t control what’s going to come in through the email, but you can have a nice work area to deal with it.
Break up the monotony of the work week by bringing in some muffins or donuts into the office. Your coworkers will appreciate it, and everyone will get something a little sweet for the day.
Take 5-10 minutes, and clean up your office space or desk. You’ll feel like you’re starting the new year fresh, and it’ll help ease you back into working after the holidays.
