Anyone who knows me knows that I love having curled hair, but I hate how long it takes me to get those glorious curls. I have super thick hair, so getting all of it styled takes me quite a bit of time. Of course, as time has gone on, I’ve gotten better about cutting down my get ready time, but if there’s a tool that’ll save me time, then I’m always open to try it. I had heard about the Beachwaver before, saw it was used in VS fashion shows, and it was popping up all over my Facebook feed. Finally, when my Little said she used it and loved it, I decided to give it a shot. The only downside is the price point. Lucky for me, they had a sale one weekend, offering the limited edition white ones for only $100 instead of $130. Now, that’s still quite a bit of money to spend on a curling iron, but I had already decided it was something I wanted to try, and getting it on sale was definitely a better solution than paying full price.
To my surprise, and delight, it only took a few days after my order for it to arrive, so I had it in no time. I tried it out, giving myself extra time just to make sure I could figure out how to get it to work best, and allow time for if I messed up some curls. I absolutely love it! It’s super easy to use, it has a handy home button if your clamp winds up on the opposite side of where it needs to be. It heated up in no time, and thanks to the adjustable temperature, which my other curling iron did not have, I didn’t have to fry my hair at 420 degrees, instead I could put it a little lower and still get amazing results. I did have a little issue when I accidentally hit the home button while I was in the middle of curling some hair, but I quickly got it released without any damage done. And that is more of a user error than something on the product, just me learning how it works. Now, this one is supposed to allow you to easily do three different types of curls based on how you hold the Beachwaver. I went for the classic, typical curls since that’s what I’m used to doing for my hair. I apparently messed up here and there, as I had some beach waves mixed in, but it still looked great.
Next time I try it, I will go for the beach waves, and see how that looks. Overall, I’m really pleased with my investment, and I think it’s definitely worth getting for anyone who could either use a little help with styling products, or who is lazy and wants something to do part of the work for you. What I really loved about it though was that it curled the hair for you, but you didn’t have to put your hair in some chamber never to be seen again. I am definitely paranoid about some of those products, like the Conair one, that sucks your hair in and spits it out curled. I’ve grown my hair out for a while, and the last thing I want is to have to get some short cut because I had to cut a styling tool out of my hair. So, I’d highly recommend you invest in it. It is a bit on the pricey side, but so far it has shown me great quality, and I’ve read good things that it lasts. We all know, in some cases, you get what you pay for. And here’s a picture of my hair, so you all can see the gorgeous curls. My hair did get attacked by the wind, so the curls got pulled out a bit, but I didn’t grab a picture before walking out, so that’s my bad. I would have shown a pre-Beachwaver pic, but I didn’t want to scare anyone 😉
